JK Thomas is a network of practicing leaders in education; authors, researchers, speakers, consultants, and service providers to K-12 education, committed to delivering powerful professional learning experiences to teachers, principals and school district leaders who seek to enhance learning in schools.

We collaborate or partner with clients to ensure we align your needs, learning objectives, available resources, and organizational culture to the design of professional learning opportunities.

We work with you to deliver online learning experiences in one of two ways:

Our People

Tom Unwin
CEO and President of JKT based in Vancouver, BC. Tom is a former district school administrator who has extensive contacts with state and district administrators across North America. He is an expert in professional development, a former teacher, elementary principal, middle school principal and high school principal. Tom has also worked at the school level in curriculum development and implementation, teaching personnel, leadership development, career education, adult education, international education, funding and financial planning, as well as implementing a wide range of district wide innovations. He worked in the Ministry of Education in British Columbia as a regional coordinator - working with school districts to implement policy and programs. Currently he is the principal of JK Thomas Associates - consulting with U.S. state educational leaders and Canadian educational to design their professional development initiatives for K12 environments - both in a web based format and traditional face to face venues..

Danielle Finlayson
Based in British Columbia Canada, she is a web site manager, web design consultant - has extensive experience with web design and program development. She operates her own web consulting service and with JKT - services - both web site and online program services

Gary Pelzer
CFO JKT. Gary has a BA and is a practicing Chartered Accountant based in British Columbia Canada. Gary operates his own financial consulting and accounting firm to Canadian School Districts and provides consulting and leadership to the financial operations of JKT.

Our Policies

Privacy Policy
Information shared by participants registering for any JK Thomas event will be used for confirmation purposes ot to send information on upcoming events. All registration information is considered confidential and is not shared or sold under any circumstances.

Registraton Terms and Conditions
Registrations are accepted on a full-payment, first come, first serve basis only. Confirmation will only be mailed upon receipt of payment or purchase order. Registration rates include all applicable taxes. A $15.00 charge will be applied to checks that are returned due to non-sufficient funds (NSF).

Cancellation/Refund Policy
If you are unable to attend a program, send cancellation in writing by email before the start of the program to either designate an alternative (at no additional charge) or to request a refund. All cancellations are subject to a processing fee. Cancellations received 72 hours, or more, prior to the start of an event will be charged 10% of the paid registration. Cancellations received within 72 hours of the start of the event will be charged 50% of the paid registration fee. No shows will not receive a refund.
