JON BIO
Jon Konen is a superintendent and freelance writer in Corvallis, Montana. He has taught most all grade levels K-6, and has been an elementary, middle, and high school principal.
As a 5th grade teacher, in 2010 Jon won the Presidential Award for Elementary Math and Science Teaching (PAEMST). As a principal, his school won the 2012 Blue Ribbon Award. In 2018, he won the National Distinguished Principal Award (NDP). In 2019 he won the National No Kid Hungry Breakfast Hero Award.
Jon is the author of three guides published on teacher.org: An Educator’s Guide to Combat Bullying & Bully Prevention; Teacher Evaluation: A Transition Guide to Exemplary Performance; and You are the Wild Card: Infusing Fun Back into Curriculum. He has authored a children’s picture book that was released January 2019 titled Benjamin’s Visit to Principal Reads Office…again! (available at www.archwaypublishing.com)
NORAH BIO
Dr. Norah Barney, EdD: Norah Barney is a principal and education consultant in Anaconda, Montana. She has taught Special Education in all grade levels prek-12, and has been an elementary principal and a k-12 assistant principal.
As a special education teacher with over 11 years of experience, Norah worked on developing high quality intervention programs in inclusive and self contained settings for Tier 3 students in Reading and Math.
Norah is also a consultant focusing on Reading, Math, and Social Emotional Learning and has presented at local and national education conferences on leadership, high quality interventions for reading and math, professional learning communities, and social emotional learning best practices
